Carriage House of the Clayton Library at 5300 Caroline St

The Houston Public Library does not sponsor or endorse this meeting. The library has a parking lot with free parking. See the map below. The meeting will be in the carriage house across the parking lot from the main library building.

Note that snacks and refreshments will be provided. Attendance at this event may be used for one hour PDH credit for your TBPE continuing education ethics requirement. Certificates will be provided.

Jeffrey Vinson, Sr.

Vice-President and Chief Information Security Officer at the Harris Heath System

Presentation:

Mr. Vinson’s presentation will cover cyber security threats and methods for preventing these intrusions from damaging your company or products. He will provide real world examples from the healthcare industry that have general application to all industries.

Speaker:

Jeffrey Vinson, Sr. is the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Harris Health System. He has been involved with information security for over 20 years and has the rare distinction of having expert experience in the military, federal government and financial services industries.  He has held positions such as Vice President, Information Security; Technical Director, Vulnerability Assessments; CISO and other senior level security management roles.  Jeffrey has led penetration testing exercises while working at NSA (National Security Agency) as a Technical Director and has created security operations teams for financial services organizations. He provides expert security advice and guidance to small and large companies and speaks at security conferences throughout the country. Jeff is a member of C|CISO exam writing committee for EC-Council and was one of their first C|CISO summit speakers for their global CISO Executive Summit. He is also, recognized as one of the top influencers in Healthcare for Information Security.
Jeffrey not only has a passion for network security, he also has extensive experience with web application security and using secure coding to remove vulnerabilities in the software development phase. Jeffrey holds C|CISO, CISSP, CIPP/IT and NSA IAM/IEM certifications and is a retired Army Officer who served during the global war on terrorism and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Technology from Elizabeth City State University.
