Amandus “Mandy” Derr, J.D.

Government Affairs Manager / Crown Castle, Inc.

Presentation:

Mr. Derr will provide a presentation detailing the benefits of 5G technology. He will focus on the deployment of the infrastructure that is required to enable 5G and provide examples of work that Crown Castle has performed in Houston and elsewhere that will enable 5G.

Speaker:

Amandus “Mandy” Derr is a licensed attorney in the State of Texas with ten years of telecommunications law, municipal law, land use, and zoning practice. Currently, Mandy serves as the Government Affairs Manager for Crown Castle, the nation’s largest provider of shared communications infrastructure. Mandy is responsible for negotiating with and obtaining necessary approvals from municipalities, local governments, and other entities to deploy Crown Castle cell towers, small cells, and fiber in the State of Texas. Recently, Mandy was part of the team that successfully helped pass new state legislation in Texas that regulates the installation of small cell networks in Texas municipal rights-of-way.

Mandy joined Crown Castle in December 2014, after practicing in both the private sector, as a Land Use Associate at Fox Rothschild, LLP in New York City and in the public sector, as Assistant General Counsel at the New York City Department of Buildings, for a combined seven years. He holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Richmond and a Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School. He currently lives in Spring, TX with his wife, a first grade teacher, and their nine year old daughter.
